Do not let the pictures fool you-this is in fact is a miniature, and its made of wood. Montreal based art director René Michel Vachon builds the frames and other parts of his Vespas from several hard and soft wood components. Using 12 layers of primer, original colour and clear paint afterwards until he gets the desired "metal" finish. The chrome parts are partly real metal, partly wood parts dipped in nickel to achieve a chrome look.
Some of the parts are fully functional. The chrome stand is moving and snaps backwards by means of a build-in spring. The only plastic parts are the reflecting components of the headlights and tail-lights.
