that's the American spec BMW, probably an R60 or it may be R75 from the mid-70s. When the BMW came out, they were basically delivered to the dealer without the size decals (e.g.R60/5, R75/5, R60/6 etc.) This meant the dealer could basically fit any colour bodywork to the bike of your choice and then apply the decals. Frames etc. were all the same. The American spec ones had the chrome panels on the tank and sides, Brit ones didn't, but you could get the American spec bodywork for your Brit one at no extra cost. Something modern manufacturers should look at.
